As we move into spring there is the tantalising potential of a summer that will hopefully be a bit more like normal. But we've still got a way to go - and it can be hard to keep our spirits up.
This could be just the time to do something different!
We’d love you to join us – a friendly place to learn some new skills while we connect with others.
So far we have created a beautiful table runner, cushion covers, a purse, a wall hanging, and the knitters have played with colour work, stitch patterns & cabling.

Now we're looking forward to our Spring Stitching Fest which will run for five weeks from 18th May. This will be our last chance to meet up before the summer - and we're all very excited that this will (hopefully!) be the first time we will meet up in person.

We're planning three sessions face to face (hoorah!), and three online sessions, before our Exhibition & Craft Sale on the 19th June. Click here to find out more.

A Stitching Story
I was lucky enough to learn about knitting and sewing from my very talented mother.
I can't remember ever not knowing about needles, threads, pins, cloth & patterns. What a gift she gave me!
This is my attempt to pass this gift on to you - I think she would be pleased.

Pretty much all my working life has been focussed on learning; how do we learn, and how can we help others to learn. How understanding & appreciation can support and enable us to be the best we can be. We Stitch Online is giving me an opportunity to bring together my love of stitching with a love of learning. I'm based in Wiltshire, although often off exploring in my trusty camper van (always with a project on board).

Inspiration has come from many places:
Landscapes, nature & wild places - especially Orkney & our Western coasts
Wool & fabric exhibitions & shops across the country
Amish quilts on a trip to Wisconsin
Spinning and weaving and wonderful cloth in Harris & Lewis
Creators, makers, knitters, spinners and weavers from across the world - too many to mention.

If not now, then when..
A dear friend once gave me a small painting inscribed with that phrase.
It seems to fit this present moment. For years I've thought about sharing my love for cloth & yarn and my respect for our ancestors who developed these skills. From the first person who twisted grasses together, to the spinners, weavers, knitters & stitchers across the centuries who have clothed us and kept us warm - these skills have been passed on to us, and are now ours to share. I'm currently busy getting ready for our 2021 groups:​
Lets Get Knitting runs for 6 weeks from Tuesday 9th February 2021
Crafters & Designers runs for six weeks from Thursday 25th March 2021 - now with a second alternative start date of 15th April.
Plus - I'm now able to offer 1-1 sessions at a time to suit you.
​
We won't quite be able to have tea and cake together while we stitch - but we'll do what we can to create a welcoming and gentle space while we get to grips with our needles and thread! See you there!

Learning about learning
Do you share my love of all aspects of knitting, sewing, fabric, yarn, & colour?
Are you passionate about knitting or sewing? Would you like to join with me to share your passion with others and to feel confident leading your own groups?
We're currently developing a programme just for you - due for launch in 2021!
Working in a small group you'll learn the skills, knowledge and understanding you'll need to be able to run your own groups with confidence.
